Music Camp Fun and Rhythm August 23, 2011

With the beat of the drum and the wind in their hair, Community Living Fort Frances and District’s clients engaged in a music camp from August 15th to the 22nd held at Pither’s Point Park.

Robyn Dennis, CLFFD’s clinical access coordinator, organized the camp through Carson Webber and his band. They brought instruments of all kinds to the park, from large drums and snare drums to smaller handheld drums. There were also lots of handheld instruments such as tambourines, maracas, and rhythm sticks.

Webber and his group also set up recording equipment to record the sounds that the music camp made during each session. On the final day of camp, the musicians and teachers held a demonstration and showed a DVD Webber’s crew had made of the camp portraying the campers’ music.

Fun was had by all and Dennis hopes to make this camp and annual event for the clients to enjoy.
