Sunny Cove Camp August 16, 2011

On August 16, 2011, Community Living Fort Frances and District held a day at Sunny Cove Camp, with great success and beautiful weather.

Campers came from all over Northwestern Ontario and from International Falls in the USA to partake in the activities CLFFD had planned. With only about an hour of rain in the whole day, visitors had a multitude of games and projects to join in.

Alongside the outdoor activities, such as swimming and volleyball, there were great indoor activities like crafts and music. For crafts, campers were able to paint their own terra cotta pot for growing plants. A local musician and his partner brought their instruments and invited everyone to join in making songs in an interpretive music session.

There were snacks and huge meals to fill the day with great food and to top it all off, the day was finished with a 60’s themed dance. Campers were given peace signs to wear, flowers for their hair, and removable tattoos.

With that much fun packed into one day, visitors are all excited to see what next year’s camp will bring.
